Titans receiver Kenny Britt has looked good in rehab in recent days.

Coach Mike Munchak said he’ll increase the intensity of Britt’s workouts in the next week as he continues to work his way back from surgeries on both knees.

“He is doing good. We have him on a great program… and he has responded to it,’’ Munchak said. “He is running hard and next week he’ll start doing more things and running. But we are happy with where he’s at.”

Britt remains in the team’s Physically Unable to Perform list. He’s had two surgeries on his right knee, and had a procedure on his left knee at the end of June. Britt’s 2011 season ended after three games because of a torn ACL/MCL in his right knee.

“He is progressing as well or better than we hoped,’’ Munchak said. “Now it is just a matter of how quickly over the next two weeks when he starts doing more cutting and changing of direction, how he’ll respond to that.”

Better be careful, wouldn't want him further hurting that knee.

[float][IMG][/float] The Titans know they’re not going to have full access to wide receiver Kenny Britt for several reasons.

But they’re at least confident enough in his physical condition to ramp up his rehab.

Titans coach Mike Munchak said he wants to increase the intensity of Britt’s work as he recovers from surgeries on both knees.

“He is doing good. We have him on a great program, . . . and he has responded to it,’’ Munchak said, via Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseean. “He is running hard and next week he’ll start doing more things and running. But we are happy with where he’s at.”

Britt’s still on the physically unable to perform list, and will stay there for a while. He had two surgeries on his right knee, and then another on his left in June. He only played three games last year, tearing the ACL and MCL in his right.

“He is progressing as well or better than we hoped,’’ Munchak said. “Now it is just a matter of how quickly over the next two weeks when he starts doing more cutting and changing of direction, how he’ll respond to that.”

Of course, even if he was 100 percent, there’s little chance he’s playing 16 games for the Titans this year. His offseason DUI arrest was the eighth arrest of his career. And while they weren’t willing to go the Aaron Berry route and cut him (he’s a lot better than Berry, that’s why), they do know he could fairly expect to be suspended by the league.

Something tells me the club has reason to believe his punishment for the DUI incident will not be severe.

This should've been a headline in April! But good news nonetheless. I still think he starts year on PUP
