Weird...I was reading the matchup article in USAToday Sports on the plane ride home, and two players stated the opposite: Mawae says we gotta go out and play, while Henry said "Hopefully they're resting their guys and we win easy and get the spot". :irked: Um...'squeezeme?

The Pats' coverage was excellent, and the DBs won almost every contested ball for an INT or incompletion. A few drops didnt help. It was disappointing to see Vince struggle, as only a couple of the errant throws can really be chalked up to the poor conditions, especially late in the game. Belichick is a truly great defensive coach with superior talent. He kept Vince locked in a pocket that collapsed in about 2.5-3 seconds with tight coverage in the secondary. He left the deep ball open, but he guessed his guys could win enough 1-on-1 battles back there to make it work. He was right. That kept plenty of guys around the LOS to stop the run, contain Vince, and contest dump-offs. Vince needs to work on his deep balls, and we need better WRs to make plays out there. Some that will come with guys like BJ getting more experience, and some must come in the offseason.

It was great to see how the Titans measured up against the kind of team they need to become. The Patriots are battle-hardened and have been winning big games for many years now. Few of our current players have ever played in a truly big game with the Titans, if ever. We will start winning games like this, and soon.

    Turning point of the game...

Could be the big pass play given up on 3rd and 20 by (Thompson or Hill? Don't remember who it was that got burned deep)

There were tons of bad defensive and offensive plays that cost the Titans the game, but I remember that one really taking the air out of the team at that point in the game.

Why does the Titan defense CONSISTENTLY and OFTEN give up the big pass play? It's been like this for years...

when you rush three and drop eight, the qb has all day to throw. the db's can cover for only so long. i think brady had enough time to drop back, stand there, pump fake THEN throw the ball right over lamont's head.

in other words, i blame schwartz.

    Turning Point of the Game

    IMO it was either:

The questionable roughing the passer call on KVB when we had them stopped.

    or

The holding call on Jacob Bell on 3rd & 17 from our own 5 when Henry busted one open for the 1st down.

    Both plays killed our momentum.

To me it looked like Thompson wasn't really paying attention to the reciever and was looking back at Brady(BAD DECISION ON HIS PART), then he couldn't catch up to him and make a play once he realized the pass was coming his way. Fair enough, on the other hand Brady also had too much time to throw. Schwartz you suck too.

No, it was Raynaldo Hill giving up the 80 yard TD on the first play from scrimmage when the Titans had pulled within 3.

The play was 3rd and 20, and the cb bites on a pump fake at 7 -8 yards.. if the throw were made, he had plenty of time to make the tackle.. but when he bit on the fake, the receiver blew past him...touchdown..
