Cook is getting slot WR type coverage. Nickel backs and safeties. In man coverage he is not getting separation the way we think he should.

He had 100 yards receiving yesterday because they were playing zone all the time and he could get in the seams of the coverage. Watch him closely in man coverage and see how hard it is for him to beat it even in routes that feature his speed like crossing routes .

We have idiots on this board(need i say who this is?) who blame Palmer for Cooks lack of spectacular success. Well he had 9 catches for 103 yards yesterday so did Palmer suddenly get smart?

FYI Cook does have 37 catches this year for over 500 yards significantly better than last year. He is getting more productive with each year.

More productive use of his chances? He's on the field just as much and has a fraction of the production.

280 yards in his entire career. 149 this season.

    vs

962 yards in a career. 527 this season.

Where exactly were you going with that one?

Never mention "production" and Craig Stevens in the same conversation.

Now you are bragging about Cook's production? I thought Palmer was an idiot who didn't know how to use him?

Roll tide is missing the point, Stevens is a blocking TE, cook is used wrong.

Me comparing his production to a guy that has done nothing doesn't mean he isn't used wrong.

Your weird logic always confuses me... it's always like you're so close to registering a point or understanding, but never really happens.

    Interesting comparisons..

    Bo Scaife average season 2005-2010..

    42 catches 397 yards..

    Frank Wycheck 96-2003

    54 catches 550 yards

    Cook's 2011 pace..

    42 catches 602 yards.

So based on that comparison Cook has been solidly productive for us. He might not be the all world talent that we hoped but he is a solidly productive TE-WR. A useful guy to have. Put him on the Patriots or Saints and those numbers increase at least 35%

DW Stevens has yet too have a ball hit him in the noggin

And I have no clue about the snap counts, but Stevens has not had a fraction of the looks Cook has and he seems to catch the rock when its chucked his way.

RT might be correct about Cook drawing DB coverage vs LBs.

and DW Cook has 1 less Fumbles than TDs and both Stevens and Cook have 3 TDs. What was that about production again. You really think counter stats mean anything without considering the number of looks they get? get serious

Stevens has had much more playing time over the past 3 years. It wasn't til the end of last year that Cook was allowed on the field consistently.

And the reason Stevens doesn't get many looks is because he's rarely downfield- due to filling his blocking role that's apparently so important.
