    Ever heard the saying "the better team doesn't always win"?... yea, that was the case this year as well as last year.

    Titans to Open NFL Season vs Steelers

    SUMMARY: The Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers will kick off the NFL season on Sept. 10 at Heinz Field The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. According to the report, the NFL will make an official announcement later Monday on the game, which will air nationally on NBC. Last season, the Titans defeated the Super Bowl Champions 31-14 at LP Field, and then set off a controversy when Titans players LenDale White and Keith Bulluck were seen stomping on the yellow Terrible Towels that many Steelers fans had brought to the stadium.

They'll get the first chance at a first impression in 2009, travelling to Pittsburgh to open against the Super Bowl XLIII Champion Steelers on Sept. 10 on NBC.</p> <p>Tennessee beat the Steelers at LP Field in Nashville in Week 16 last season, clinching home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs last season.</p> <p>But the Titans couldn't force a rematch, losing to Baltimore in the first round of the playoffs, leaving Pittsburgh to host, and win, the AFC Championship Game.</p> <p>Had enough of the debate over the Titans stomping a Terrible Towel at the conclusion of that regular season win? Tough luck, because it'll be revisited ad naseum in the build up to that game.</p> <p>The Titans also open the NFL preseason with an appearance in the Hall of Fame game against Buffalo. Jeff Fisher's going to be in position to need to rest a lot of his frontline players in the fifth preseason game given a Thursday night start to the regular season season.</p>
