No... I never once said the Raiders should give up on Carr. That would be insane. And I never suggested that there is no difference between a 1st and 6th. lol

Just an FYI... Carr was a 2nd round pick, not 1st. I am about 95% sure we would've drafted him if he fell to us. It's exactly why we traded back. Has to be.

My whole point was that Mett looked every bit as good as Carr. Yet everyone here hates him. That's all.

Right, I forgot they took Mack in the first.

Again, it is still easier to move on from Mett. Carr didn't have near the talent that Mett had at LSU. That isn't even debatable.

Carr was drafted to be the starter, Mett basically had it handed to him via injury. I'm not saying we should just completely dump him, because he did show enough to deserve to be in consideration for next year. However, if you believe that Mariotta or Winston will be the franchise QB, you take them, Mett didn't show THAT much.

I'm not sold on either of them, so I'd rather roll with Mett and have him take the abuse until we can actually put someone out there and not be charged with attempted murder.

I agree... Although I do believe the Raiders initial plans were to start Schaub. Once they realized how awful he was, they went with Carr.

I'm also not sold on either QB, but I honestly wouldn't even care if we went with Winston or Mariota (I prefer Winston now actually) at this point. We are SO terrible and in need of something to spark the franchise that I would completely understand the rationale behind either pick.

If Winston nails his interviews and doesn't pull a VY on the Wonderlic, then we should take him if Tampa doesn't.

As many others have said... Gotta swing for the fences. We have nothing to lose.

Sure we do, we could lose on a play maker at two. The biggest thing that has killed us has been these gigantic misses in the first. We are still hurting from the Jones/Young busts.

thats true, but that is recent.

But you miss on guys like Wyatt, Rogers, and the like. Granted the first round of 2006 wasn't spectacular, but we still could have walked away with a player still on the team.

I think Locker over Watt is equally as haunting.

I agree but there is only one Dan Snyder out there. I agree that we should hold out for as much as possible, but I would not use a Dan Snyder deal as a template here (more of an outlier IMO).
