Look at what the Rams got for dropping from 2-6 with RG3. You wanna drop from 2-10 and get like a third of that?

Just to put that in perspective. We'd be giving up 2600 points and getting back 1680...about 1000 points off (a mid first and 2nd rnd picks in 2016 are together worth about 610 points...still 310 points short... so add in their 3rd and 4th rnd picks this year and we are still below market value).

So we should be getting AT LEAST the #10 pick plus their 1st-4th picks this draft plus their 1st and 2nd in 2016.

No team will deal 7 starting players...that would kill their cap by the way and still not be good value for us. Would probably still need their 2nd rnd pick. no way they kill their cap, create 7 holes and give up their best draft picks.

Did you not see the Blockbuster trade the Rams got from Washington? Even with Washington overpaying, they only moved up from 6 to 2, not 10 to 2. Wash paid double what they should have but if we are dropping to 10, we would be in line for a similar deal. I would take your deal if Foles was Montana in his prime....but....

If the Eagles are serious about going for Mariota, they have 3 realistic options which at best are somewhat long shots.

The QB neediest teams are the Rams who have the 10th pick but are not good fits for Mariota (read want Foles), the Browns (have 2 first rnd picks but may or may not be a fit for Mariota), or the Jets who need a QB and COULD use Mariotta in Chan Gailey's offense. The Jets are, IMO, the biggest threat to take Mariota as they pick at #6 and could utilize him in their offense.

So your first idea is to see if you can get a few teams into a bidding war to see who will give you the most...especially if it comes in the form of moving up in the first rnd. If you can parlay Foles into moving up to #12 with Cleveland or #10 with the Rams....they have a shot.

The Jets are the trade accelerator. I absolutely believe the Jets would take Mariotta at 6 so the Eagles would have to jump them to get Mariota. Another threat that could come from left field would be the Raiders. I know everyone thinks Carr is the future there but Musgrave is now their OC and he was OC with...the Eagles...wasn't he? They pick 4th.

So we will see if any trade gets done with Foles and then we will know if the Eagles are serious players. They are not players sitting at #20 unless they get something good or move up in a Foles trade.

So if you're Webster, you make the Jets think first, we are gonna take Mariotta and develop him for a year and then have our superstar QB while they get to start Geno Smith again. Also, you make them believe the Raiders are interested (and hopefully they would be). Bidding wars always make for great trade value! If the Rams don't get Foles in a trade, they could still look for a huge trade to leapfrog the Raiders and Jets.

If the Eagles got up to #12 or #10, they'd really be in play. Anyway you slice it, there should be 2 or even 3 teams looking for a trade up for Mariotta.

Teams give up multiple picks all the time to get their guy. Redskins traded multiple to go to #2, Falcons traded multiple to go from 27 to #6. That's 21 spots. Philly is looking at 18 spots for Mariota. Kelly loves the kid. He thinks there is no better QB in the world to run his offense. If the guy that controls the draft for a team; thinks there is no better QB than the one he can get at #2 to run his offense, why wouldn't he make that deal?? He has said many times Mariota would be a dream come true in his offense. If that is the one missing piece that he thinks gets his team to the SB, he should make the trade.

    Raiders?

Carr looked great last year. No one is going to believe the Raiders are going to take Mariotta.

    It is the Raiders though.

You should believe they'll take a kicker in the 1st if they say it... they've done it before.

But yea, 0% chance the Raiders take Mariota or any QB, for that matter, in the first three rounds.

On a side note, I'd say Carr looked marginally better than Mett (if at all) IMO... and he had an entire season of work. People complain about Mett going 0-5 or 0-6... Carr went 0-10 before getting his first win. Yet he got a ton of praise even when they were losing.

The obvious choice for the Raiders, on paper and at the moment, would be Amari Cooper.

The difference is Carr is a first round pick, not a 6th. You can't cut bait with a first round pick that quickly irregardless of how many people here think that there is no difference between a 1st and a 6th.
