WHy are we talking about the heisman trophy? Lets not forget Vince ACTUALLY WON offensive ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!

Vince has had an up and down career in no small part to Fisher's lack of creativity and confidence in him as a QB. But after Vince's last season, and hopefully this season... we will all know who Vince is.

Look at Vick, EVERYONE wrote him off.

 

The teams in the NFL that win the most do exactly that. They draft players to fit their scheme. The Steelers have been in the top 10 in total defense every year for the last 10 but running the same 3-4 scheme and drafting players that are ideal for that.

Patriots do the same thing.

 

The titans have won 10 of our last 13 games with VY at QB. His passing rating in those 13 games is 84.

Russell never won a national title and while Vince Young's longhorns averaged 50 points a game in 2005 Russell's LSU team never even scored 50 points in 2006.

 

Well the difference is the Steelers' and Patriots' schemes actually work, even if we drafted the perfect players for ours, we'd still suck because it's outdated and no adjustments have been made to the rule changes.

And you're talking about defense. Offensive scheme is a whole different thing. They are incomparable.

Beat me to it. Steelers and Pats both have multiple championships to justify the way they are doing things.

I actually love the smash mouth style of offense. Problem is, in today's NFL the rules have been shaped to a ridiculous extent to help out the passing game. To not take advantage of that is insane. And before anyone says it, I know we don't exactly have Brady, Manning or Brees at QB. But neither do 28 other teams. Those other teams don't let that fact stop them from throwing the ball. Vince is 33rd in the league in pass attempts. 29th in passing yards. Yet he's 12th in yds/attempt. What's wrong with this picture?
