He sure does suck at times but hes no "mental midget". He seems kinda smart but hes just too freaking nice. He needs some bath salts befor games

you have a closer relationship than me

I am basing my impression on the number of times he can make a play against the times he chooses not too make the play.

Agreed for the most part. His inconsistency is baffling and he doesn't have that Bulluck type attitude when it comes to tackling. I'm hoping that all that money he just signed for will help motivate him. Griff's a good player, but not all the time, and you can't afford to have a good player play like crapola and be inconsistent. Hit somebody Griff!

Obviously, the Titans brass have a higher opinion of him than I do.

I'm thinkin ahead man. Remember that deal we initially gave to Finny when we extended him, it was a great value for everyone I think. Those are the type of deals that championship teams are made of.

The players that I listed (JMac, ATV, Britt, Casey, Colin, Klug, etc...) are so far all good looking players that I would want to keep once their rookie contracts end.

Course you need more time for most of them (i.e. rookies, unproven, can't stay healthy, watever...) before you give them a deal.

I'm just saying sure our cap number is low, but the amount of starters and good role players we have on rookie contracts seems very high. If we were to try and sign them all, that cap number could be eaten up real quick.

it's just very rare to offer another contract to people have more than 2 years left

    1. No it isn't. A linebacker who can't tackle is like a kicker w=without a foot. A saftey has to cover. Griffin can cover.

    2. Feel free to prove me wrong, but the stats do not support the claim that he is bad in coverage.

Like I said, when he messes up, which is rare, he just does so on an epic scale.

Just looked up a stat on it.

The 49ers had the best rushing defense in the league.

    Their FS had 67 tackles.

    Griffin had 75.

He sucks at tackling, but he doesn't have to be a good tackler to be a good saftey.

Ok but you don't want your last line of defense (the safeties) to suck at tackling.

It's alright. Griffin is being paid Polamalu/Reed money. He's elite. No need to worry about his tackling.
