Phillips was not a 4-3 end most of the time he was a 4-2-5 or 4-1-6 end. They used him as pass rushing specialist. That is how we will use him i'm sure.

I like how everybody totally discounts Zach Brown's potential as a edge rusher. Wouldn't that speed be an asset on the outside? He might be best there. And Ayers had 6 sacks in 2012 on healthier ankles is also ignored.

In any event we did not sign Phillips and make an effort to keep Wimbley around so we can then draft a 3-4 OLB.

After his pro day, there have been talks of him going in the 2nd round.

But I guess he'll go in the 7th or sign as an UDFA if you say so. You certainly seem to be dead set on Murray being a Harrell/Brennan/Moore clone. Surely you are right, right?

    Uhh...

Both Phillips and Wimbley are short term solutions. And there is no guarantee they will be as effective as they once were. We still need a "franchise" pass rusher.

I guess with this logic, the signing of Clipboard Jesus rules out the possibility of drafting a QB.

RT must not subscribe by drafting of BPA. The entire idea behind it is so that that guy may not actually start his first season in. Draft Barr, guy will likely be a role player this year and probably replace Wimbley or Phillips the next year. It isn't that hard of a concept, RT is just handicapped.

If we want a franchise guy for a 34 defense then you need to take the rarest position. NT. Not sexy at 11 but a few spots back getting a third back would be nice. Leaves a Dee ford or other OLB for the second and a RB or QB for the 3rd. Rb/wr for the 4th. Pointless to take a qb after the 3rd IMO unless Murray is magically there.

We are going to take a NT somewhere. We don't have one on the roster right now that is proven. I am all for going after Nix and being done with it.

Would be a good move. Couple him with an OLB in the second to build some youth. I have doubts we would get to trade back and get him tho. Would need a solid second option just in case tho.

They might be satisfied with Johnson and Hill.

Right, we have too many holes for complete depth. We still need and 3-4 end and that NT. Pretty sure we are taking a QB. We might just skip running back, wouldn't be too surprised or upset. Receiver can probably be pushed back.....they might hold off on linebackers too. Who knows, its hard to tell this year.
