The titans defense, a B-12 shot for struggling QBs and mediocre skilled players.

    Yards per attempt 7.0

    Vs the Titans
    Passing rating 91.4
    YPA 8.6

    Tyler Thigpen
Vs the rest of the league
    Passing rating 73.6
    6.3 YPA

    Vs Titans

    Passing rating 141.7
    10.7 YPA

    TE Anthony Fasano
Vs the rest of the league in 2010
    2.5 catches per game
    32.5 yards per game

    Vs Titans
    5 catches
    107 yards

    Ricky Williams

Vs the rest of the league in 2010
    4.3 ypc

    Vs the Titans
    5.8 ypc

Pretty obvious our defense sucks it is not just because we have played against great talent. Anthony Fasano did the same thing to us that Antonio Gates did and Chad Henne did the same thing that Rivers did. Backup and 2nd tier runners have gashed us. Even without a real Qb on the field we could not stop the run.

This is not a playoff caliber defense and our safeties constantly leave the middle of the field wide open.

This year the injury bug is not an excuse for horrible play since we have been incredibly healthy and only lost a couple of players.

It's not just that we are 20th in total defense it's that when we need a stop and the game is on the line we can't get it and all our defensive problems from early in the year have only grown worse.

Hope needs to take his bad neck and hit the street, but fish face will keep playing him because he is a veteran.

fish face admitted that players were out of position to end 3Q against the WC. There will be NO consequesnes for these lapses - there never is with fish face

First half of the season Defenses always seem more ready to play than Offenses.

2nd half of the season they get figured out.

We still had plety of stops and plays yesterday but our Offense did nothing with them.

Hope has been a problem but Griffin also has not covered anyone the last 2 games. He was dominated by Gates and a fast athletic FS should be able to hold his own even against a great TE.

The linebacker coverage in the middle of the field has also been atrocious. We had Tulloch in the end zone and allowed a FB to catch a dump pass for a 12 yard first down on a 3rd and 12 at our own 14.

Witherspoon can't see to cover a RB on an out pattern. He was beat for the game winning TD by Buckholder in the Denver game and the legendary(What's his name? Cobb somebody) did the exact same thing yesterday.

Our DE's are not rushing the passer as well as earlier this year.

Plenty of blame to go around. A lot of missed coverages and people with their heads up their arses. And letting Ricky Williams run wild out of the wildcat was pathetic!

These stats aren't completely fair in my opinion, Thigpen's sample size is far to small, as well as Ricky Williams, especially because he got one huge chunk of yards on a wildcat play. Why not point out Ronnie Browns stats? or Brandon Marshall's? That would make our defense look elite, not abysmal like your stats. Fact is it's somewhere in between.

    Some interesting stats...

    22nd in third down defense.

26th in first downs given up.

31st in offensive time of possession.

Yeah, Ford overran Ricky Williams when he crashed down the line to chase after Ronnie Brown. Dave ball did the same EXACT thing on the very next play. Both plays should have been at worst runs for no gain. That was easily the most frustrating moment of the game for me.

    Some interesting stats...

    Tied 2nd sacks.

    Tied 1st in interceptions.

    9th in points per game.

Again if you ONLY look at the bad stats of course the defense is gonna look absolutely terrible, but that's not fair, and it's misleading. We aren't terrible on defense like everyone thinks now, and we're not amazing on defense like everyone thought for the first quarter of the season either.

True. But if you're looking at our most recent production we're a lot closer to being terrible than amazing.
