Titans DC Jerry Gray counting on big day from C.J.

    Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray has spent all offseason trying to figure out ways to slow down all the playmakers on New England’s offense.

    Heading into Sunday, he knows at least one formula that might work.

    “Give the ball 50 times to Chris Johnson,” he said with a smile.

    Gray then got serious.

    “It’s going to take a team effort,’’ Gray said. “It’s going to take offense, defense and special teams I think. You can’t leave those guys on the field all day thinking they are not going to score points. We’ve seen what they can do. It is not a secret. Those guys have been winning for the last 10-12 years and they are good at it.”

    Johnson, of course, wouldn’t mind the workload. In his last outing against the Patriots, back in 2009, he ran for 128 yards, albeit in a 59-0 loss.

    “Any time a quarterback goes in there, it is always good to have a good run game,’’ Johnson said. “We feel like if we can get the running game going, it will help (Jake Locker) get momentum and we’ll be all right.”

    I stated in a post last night that CJ needs to be able to move the chains. Time of possession is critical. Keep Brady off of the field.

    CJ is anything but a ToP RB. That isnt saying hes no good but unless he has changed moving the chains is not what the little guy is about.

    jerry, you know better than that, you have to gameplan CJ gets stuffed and is useless the whole game. Anything else is a blessing.

    CJ is gonna beast this weekend. We've been talking all week about how its time to prove the fake fans wrong and get back to leading the league. He's thinking 120+ this game. He also told posters to quit hating, he's still the fastest back in the league.
