Titans D Better? Too Early to Know

I hope it keeps up through the season. Want to see more aggression and more Griffin. Overly impressed with the defensive lines performance so far. Hopefully that continues tonight. Good test against speed:Reggie and Powereuce.

 

Corners need to improve a little on covering receivers a little tighter. And the rest looks great!!

 

It's good to see this for a change

 

I still think 3 games into the season is early to get too excited over any kind of rankings, but what we're seeing on the field against some good offenses is supporting this. A few nice early defensive standings indicate a big change from last year:

#2 Rush Yards Allowed
#6 Points Allowed
#9 Total Yards Allowed
#4 Def Penalties per game
#4 Time of Possession (helped by a #2 Rush Offense)

If you had said 4 weeks ago that after playing against Fred Taylor, MJD, Joseph Addai, Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning that we would be #2 in rushing defense and #6 in total points allowed we all would have said you were crazy. Throw into the mix that Vince is completing about 63% of his passes with a respectable 83.3 passer rating, and is showing clear signs of improvement from game to game. The secondary has given up very few huge plays, and on top of the fantastic pressure our front 4 is getting they are also getting coverage sacks. NONE of that appeared likely a few months ago... And best of all is that they've been consistent each week - even going back to preseason. For a young team, you can't ask for much more.
