RoyDell...wow

 

The coaches and training staff made an unbelievably terrible decision to activate Roydell instead of just lettin him rehab since they knew the pain wasn't going to go away until he had the screws removed. Really disappointed, and feel bad for Roydell.

 

Roydell=average NFL WR


Hurt Roydell=nothing

 

Why didn't they just PUP Roydell. They could always release him after the 6th week if they didn't think they needed him. My goodness, he isn't all pro but compared to Paul Williams he looks like one even on one ankle.

The bright spot however is Hawkins is better than just about any WR we have so he can get some playing time soon.

I think, even hurt, why not keep him over Chris Davis or Paul Williams, and just hope he is healthy enough to contribute in a few weeks. If not, cut him then.

And putting him on PUP wouldn't have helped. His ankle wasn't getting any better. If he was going to play, he'd have to play w/ pain all season. Its not getting any better until they take the screws out at the end of the season.

And PW is the 5th or 6th WR. It would make no sense to keep Roydell as the 5th or 6th guy and cut a younger guy b/c Roydell is an FA after this season. You don't keep a hurt vet as deep depth if you've got a cut a younger guy that's had a really good camp. PW might not have shown much in games but he really did have a good camp. He made nice catches every day I went including a really nice 1 handed grab for a TD.
