Titans cut Kevin Matthews

    In addition to signing returner Leon Washington and cutting returner Devon Wylie, the Titans made a few other moves on Tuesday.

    The team cut center Kevin Matthews from the 53-man roster, following Brian Schwenke’s successful return to the lineup last Sunday. Also, the Titans placed defensive tackle Chigbo Anunoby on the practice-squad injured list and added defensive tackle Frank Kearse to the practice squad.

    The 6-5, 310-pound Kearse played collegiately at Alabama A&M, and was a seventh-round pick of Miami in 2011. He has 14 games of NFL experience with Carolina over the past two years, totaling 1.5 sacks during that time.

    The team’s roster currently stands at 52 following the Matthews’ cut. But if safety Michael Griffin is suspended, the Titans will get an additional roster exemption.
