SUMMARY: With around $33 millions in cap room, the Tennessee Titans know they can afford Albert Haynesworth. General Manager Mike Reinfeldt said the Titans have an approximate figure budgeted for the two-time All-Pro defensive tackle, who becomes a free agent on Feb. 27 if they don't re-sign him before then. He would not specify an amount. Vikings DE Jared Allen is currently the NFL's highest-paid defensive player signing a $74 million, $32 million guaranteed, contract last season. The Titans also continue to negotiate with representatives for Kerry Collins, Brandon Jones, Vincent Fuller and Chris Carr. Either Bo Scaife or Rob Bironas are candidates for the franchise tag if the Titans choose to use it.

I can AFFORD a new Skyline GTR.

But it'd be a dumb financial decision.

I would like to see them sign him, but not hold the team hostage. That could possibly harm the chemistry in the locker room. Last season the entire team played as a coherent unit and it showed. Look what a cancer Pacman was. With the statements that AH has made in the press recently and the discovery of his most recent traffic incident (not to mention the Garode thing in 07) I'm starting to change my views about him.

I would say 100% of the players in the NFL know that it is a business. At the end of the day everyone wants every dollar they can get.

I doubt anyone will harbour ill feelings toward Haynesworth for saying he wants every penny. I as a fan hate it, but it is what it is. He has said that he wants to play in Tennessee, so we have something to go on.

I'd damn sure rather see AH get the money than watch Bud pocket it.

I'd rather see the Texans overspend for him, watch him lay out most the season or go back to playing in coast-mode while we spend it on a receiver.

I want to keep Albert, but not for the most money of all DTs. He still hasn't proven he can play a whole season. Even in his contract year or franchise tagged year.

    Draft DT.
