We dont need another Bobby Wade tho. We need that reciever that everyone fears going into game time. We need that number 1 reciever. How and where are we going to find him? I dont know. Im sure we will tho.

Please stop saying Wade was a nobody in chicago. We had hopes of wade doing well when we got him, because he showed a bit of potential. I'll hope for the best with this guy, but it really seems like we just signed courtney roby...again.

Well, I'm not too enthused by this signing either, but I'll state the obvious. It's tough to stand out on a run first team, when the QB that are trying to throw the ball to you are a mix of Rex Grossman, Jonathan Quinn, Kyle Orton, Crystal Chandelier, Craig Krenzel, Chad Hutchinson, Jeff Blake, and quite possible also the ghost of Mike Tomczak...

Probably, just like the RB situation last year when we had five I believe. Then we cut it down to just Henry/Brown/White.

Knows how to come back for the underneath and off-target passes …

    This explains it.

    signing of gage

i really hope MR doesnt think we have a good receiving core come draft time and then passes on Jarret, ginn, or meachem. we desperatly need a #1 or we wont be a superbowl contender in the future.

It's not like they front office boys haven't tried. David Givens was signed last year to a big money contract to be that "#1." I can't remember bringing in a Free Agant WR with much success (think Yancy Thigpen or Carl Pickens).

But you're right, it does appear to be a problem position lately. The franchise has had some pretty decent WR's over the years, but most have been developed through the draft...especially the previous incarnation (Oilers).

You think their plan might be to let the Three Amigos (Brandon Jones, Roby & Roydell) hold down the fort for the first few weeks until Givens gets healthy, and supplement the WR corps through the draft (maybe the kid from USC).

Then play run the ball on offense, stop the run on defense, and control the clock. Wait!!! That sounds like Fisher's game plan!!!

I would like to have a great #1 WR too. But I ain't holdin' my breath. What I want to see is a defense that can remember how to stop the run!!!:irked:

I hope we consider offering Detroit a 5th or 6th(a 4th if we have to maybe) for Mike Williams. He has done nothing for the Lions and is not highly thought by the coaches. This guy was an outstanding WR at USC and a change of scenry and reunion with Coach Chow might turn him around. Wr is probably the most important position for us to upgrade to help VY Williams could be worth a gamble, not a lot of options left.
