As a side note, I found this funny bit on the same page
Who asks a WR to block on a pass play??

So, basically absolutely worthless. Nothing we don't already have.

Who was Wade before we signed him last year? Gage could blossom in our system. Look at his former QB. Don't start criticising him yet. All I know about Gage is his stats.

Not knowing what the contract is like, perhaps we don't have anything or much guaranteed, so if he doesn't show well in camp, we can let him loose.

Justin McCareins has to be at the top of the wish list at this point. How sad, yet I really hope we get him.

I'm sure this in particular is what they hope to get out of him:

"Has the strength to escape press coverage … Shows aggression and functional strength when called upon for blocking purposes … Capable of making the crack block upfield … Knows how to come back for the underneath and off-target passes … Possesses a powerful and dangerous arm for the option pass."

Can get off the line, block for the run game, block when Vince breaks it loose, catch when Vince improvises on the run, throw the ball should Chow decide to test Vince as a WR for a play.

Not that this has anything to do with anything..

His Madden rating is 76. Which is better then Orr , Roby , and Williams.

    Speed 86
    Catching 76

Looks like he used to be a QB. 50 THP and 48 THA

    idk

    Good for depth I guess.

    I like his height.

We still need a number 1 reciever tho..

Lets give him a chance in our system. By looking at his stats he certainly doesn't look like the best, but at the same time he doesn't look like the worst WR either. He will have a great team and QB to work with so hopefully his production will rise.

This has probably been answered somewhere else, but what happened to JMac as an 'option' we might look into? It would be great to have him around, but at this point I'm doubting that will happen...at least this year.

    Justin Gage?

apparantly the titans have just signed free agent WR justin gage, here NFL.COM'S take on him

Positives: Natural athlete with good height/weight/speed … Has a well-developed frame that packs a lot of power … Displays effective upfield quickness and the acceleration to elude defenders after the catch … Has the body control to make sharp cuts coming out of his routes … Shows timing to the stick posts on corner routes … Uses his quickness and power to gain most of his yardage after the catch … Shows good leaping ability going up for the ball in flight and a competitive nature to wrestle the ball away from defenders in traffic … Extends his arms properly and catches with his hands … Has the strength to escape press coverage … Shows aggression and functional strength when called upon for blocking purposes … Capable of making the crack block upfield … Knows how to come back for the underneath and off-target passes … Possesses a powerful and dangerous arm for the option pass.

Negatives: Lacks top foot speed, lateral agility and burst to escape the press … Does not have the long acceleration to be considered game-breaking material, as he does not separate quickly … Needs to concentrate on tracking the ball in better (too many drops) … Shows he can reach and pluck the ball, but also has a tendency to bobble the pigskin … Shows inconsistent aggression when asked to block, especially in pass protection … Bit of a selfish player who was never considered a team leader … Needs to build up before he can attain top speed … Bit stiff in the hips and lacks juking moves to elude after the catch, relying more on his power to break arm tackles
    ...
..... dont u think theyre embelishing a bit?

JMac has to be cut first, or traded for -- he's not a FA. We're just biding our time. It'll likely happen -- he hasn't fit in well in NY.
