Well somebody invoked the name of Kevin Carter so i guess it is inevitable that JJ watt would enter the conversation. Please guys.

This is a 315 lb guy with 5.27 speed. I guess we could argue that in theory his 6'8 frame could cause trouble for right handed QBs as a left side DE but in his career he only has one PD so he has not knocked down many passes.

Nothing wrong with playing him at DE on run downs or any other big guy but i don't see how he particularly qualifies for that role.

I'd say that's pretty average right there.

    I like the depth though.

Some nice depth for sure, its a shame we have no real prominent DE prospects this year. Would have been epic to have landed Doom or even Osi or Abe.

    Ca you provide those stats?

Dis concerning to me that a 6'4 330lb guy would not be good against the run.

One site i read said that Hill has had 17 hurries in the last 3 years. So 17 hurries out of what 500-600 pass rushes?

I get it though Hil perhaps the little better pass rusher and Pitoitua the little better run defender but it is Pitoitua that they are talking about playing outside.

I just hope they don't use that super high pick on a one dimensional Irvin type guy.. I'm obviously talking about Mingo here who at 240 lbs and with no experience at linebacker would just be a pass situation specialist and nothing more.

I would rather take Carridine at 10.

Does seem like the writing is on the wall for us drafting a speed rusher there.

I don't want Mingo either and I think we could get Carridine in the second but I am still not sold on him. What do you think about MLB Ogletree at 10? UGA guy but I am sure you are aware of him. I have been trying to push his name around here the past week.

PFF. Last season, Sammie Lee Hill had 11 stops on 170 run plays and 19 pressures on 219 passing plays. Pitoitua had 24 stops on 262 running plays and 6 pressures on 219 passing plays. Again, a lot of that could be the systems they played in.

I'd say that's better than average. I don't see anybody that can be single teamed in that 1st lineup. Can't leave Casey or Hill alone. Def can't leave Wimbley alone and Morgan's holding down his spot as well.

I think the problem last year was that often times one of the DT's would be non-existent and they'd be able to double team Wimbley or Casey.

I still don't see a DT on the roster that requires double teams.

We went after Canty early and didn't land him. So we settle on Pitoitua who has a similar body frame as Canty. I can certainly see us playing him at DE on run downs. I could see this in combination with off coverage on his side and press coverage on the other. Try to entice the QB to throw the quick slant and have him swat it down.
