Following news of the season-ending injury to center Eugene Amano, the Titans added fifth-year veteran center/guard Chris Morris on Saturday. The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder has played in 51 games with 11 starts.

Morris played for the Raiders from 2006-09. In his final season with Oakland he played in 16 games with 10 starts (four at center, six at guard). He played for the Panthers in 2010 and has been in training camps with the Patriots and Lions.

The Raiders selected him in the seventh round of the 2006 draft out of Michigan State.

A 6-4, 205 lb. Center? No wonder he couldn't catch on anywhere last year.

205 lbs??? So are they saying our QB will be bigger than the center? ... Surely they meant 305

Yeah, knew that couldn't be right. At 6'4", he'd have to be leaner than Chris Johnson

I was gonna say, hell, I'm 6' 4" 280, they should sign me over this 205 lb guy.

[float][IMG][/float] The Titans tried during free agency to replace center Eugene Amano. They couldn’t. And now they have to.

With Amano out for the season due to a torn triceps injury, the team has agreed to terms with veteran center Chris Morris.

The Titans announced the move on Saturday afternoon.

Morris entered the league in 2006 as a seventh-round pick of the Raiders. He appeared in 16 games with 10 starts in 2009. The next season, in Carolina, he played in only four games.

Out of the league in 2011 after getting an injury settlement with the Patriots, Morris fit the Titans primary criteria: He was available and, presumably, cheap.
