I'm starting to think Holt doesn't want to be a Titan.

Reading on the Jags board and it seems they are close to a deal, apparently he had dinner with Garrard today also.

Dinner is a pretty common thing during a team visit and those Jag fans never seem to know the difference between fact and wishful thinking.
It ain't done until its done. Holt would be just plain dumb not to visit some other teams..

I can only imagine how that dinner went.

Garrard: So it would be cool if you signed here.
Holt: Didn't you guys only win 4 games last year? I'm looking for 1 more championship before I retire.
Garrard: Hehehehe well first off we won 5 games and secondly we did make the playoffs 2 years ago.
Holt: Well what other receivers would I be playing with?
Garrard: Troy Williamson and someone named Mike Walker.
    Holt: Ouch.
Garrard: Yea, coach wants to get me more weapons since we lost our 3 best receivers.
Holt: Jerry Porter, Matt Jones and Mike Williams were your best receivers?
Garrard (eyes light up): OH YEA! Man Mike Williams once had 10 TD in a season!
Holt: Why did you get rid of him then?
Garrard: Because all those TDs were like from inside the 5, plus he was an alcoholic.
    Holt: Ah.
Garrard: But Matt was cool. He was such a red zone threat, EVRYONE feared him.
    Holt: Who's everyone?
Garrard: Well, I'm sure some people did, small corners probably.
Holt: Well why did you get rid of him?
Garrard: Ah some stupid reason, cocaine I think.
    Holt: And Porter?
Garrard: Well he was good in Oakland, he almost had 1000 receiving yards there once, so we payed him a lot but then he got hurt. So we had to cut him.
    Holt: ......
    Garrard: Yeah....

Really, I'm not going to set myself up to get my feelings hurt. We already signed 2 WRs. It's over. :sad2:

Not sure if its been said yet, I'm not reading everyone's posts. We NEED a 'Tory Holt' terribly bad. Our team is damn good as is, and with the addition of Holt we would be great. He is the caliber of WR we haven't seen in so long, since losing Mason to Baltimore for cap space. Holt's game alone would open the playbook on offense by a lot, allowing the running game to be even better. My experience as a Titans fan tells me; we are more likely to pursue Holt (a proven veteran) than we are to draft a rookie WR in April. Tennessee doesn't do the whole WR thing in the draft til the later rounds causing who ever we might draft to need years to develop. This team is ready now to make a run at the Super Bowl. Adding Holt could get us there.

Nate Washington is one and Mark Jones is not the second. Jones is some fool we will end up cutting, because he will be taking up a roster spot for nothing. I sure hope Tennessee isn't done looking for KR's.

Mark Jones was not signed to be a WR for us but as a retuner. He may be a backup WR due to injury but I don't expect to see much of him at WR
