Everyone is still going to tell him and talk about him.

Too soft spoken and afraid of criticism. Ever since he separated his shoulder, afraid of contact.

I'll lay off him since he knows he blew it, but watch CJ talk about how great he is, or how fast he is. Fuccck that guy, Griff at least owns up to his mistakes.

Only weeks after signing a five-year, $35 million contract, Titans safety Michael Griffin suffered through a rough season opener on Sunday.

Griffin certainly wasn’t the only guilty party on a day when the Patriots averaged almost six yards per offensive play. But much is expected of him after the Titans’ decision to make a long-term commitment to him.

Griffin caught an early break when Tom Brady overthrew a wide open Brandon Lloyd, who had gotten behind Griffin for what should have been a 48-yard touchdown pass.

But it wasn’t long afterward that Griffin was unable to keep pace with tight end Aaron Hernandez, who caught a 23-yard touchdown pass to put New England up 7-3. Later in the half, Griffin appeared to be the primary defender when Lloyd caught a 27-yard pass at the sideline.

And there was a missed tackle that allowed Pats’ running back Stevan Ridley to a 15-yard gain.

To his credit, Griffin was the first to admit he didn’t play up to his standards.

“Ain’t nobody got to tell me right now,” Griffin said. “I know I played a terrible game. I prayed and with God’s help, I’ll try to get better .”

The Titans may wind up re-thinking their decision to play Griffin at strong safety and Robert Johnson at free safety. Griffin has played more free safety in his career, and spent almost all there last year when he was teamed with Jordan Babineaux.

Asked if he was comfortable playing more at strong safety, which entails more run support, Griffin said, “Right now, just no comment.”
