The part that really stinks about the WR play is that we can't even cut these scrubs because we have no one to replace them with.

Hawkins and Williams had chances to make plays for us yesterday early on and they let those opportunities slip right through their fingers, literally. We are in big trouble at WR. We should sign TO AND Randy Moss. They're better playing half-@$$ed than these scrubs are at their best. Nate is the only WR we have that is worth a d@mn.

The coaching staff dropped the ball big time last week. There were plenty of WRs available at the trade deadline. We weren't gonna get a Dwayne Bowe or a new Kenny Britt obviously, but we would have had something to work with.

Steve Smith (Eagles) and Brandon Lloyd were the two big names going around. I'm sure there were plenty of #2/#3 worthy receivers that would put the 3 stooges to shame that we could have had for a very late pick. Instead, what did the coaches say? "We're confident in the guys that are already on the team." Oops.

What that says to me is:

    1) The coaches can't evaluate talent.
    2) The coaches are playing favorites with "their guys" that they want to succeed.
    3) Amy said this in a few other threads - the coaches think inexperienced guys with potential can replace what veterans bring to the table.
    4) Maybe the players do have the talent but they have nobody to coach them up properly.

Either way, Titaneers is kinda right. It's not the receivers fault they suck. They're probably working their butts off trying to contribute. It's the coaches fault for not putting the team in a position to succeed.

Yea well that's no concern of mine now. Justin Gage and "He Who Shall Not Be Mentioned" are long gone.

Yea we can dump Hawkins now, he'll never be more than a 4th/5th stringer at best. The little dipchit simply doesn't care that much.

As for Williams, he gets the same pass from me I gave Ryan Mouton. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. WR's don't typically breakout til their 3rd year, so Williams IMO has time to grow in to an NFL WR.

The whole point is this. Most of us were unhappy ever since Mcnair left with how our quarterbacks were.We went through four or five horrible years on offense in regards to the quarterback spot.We finally get a pretty good quarterback in here and guess what? no one to throw to and our running back can't get past the line of scrimmage.

Exactly, other teams' rookie WR's seem to be able to come in and at least run the right routes and catch passes. We have a 2nd year guy and a 4th year guy that can't do that.

Williams is fine he still has a lot of potential, Washington is pretty good when he isn't the best receiver on the field, and Hawkins blows.
