Early this week, Jeff Fisher indicated he'd probably move Vince Young from the coaches booth to the sideline for Sunday's game against the Vikings at LP Field.

It would be the right move, as the Sunday upstairs certainly played like a game of hide and seek. As best I could tell, CBS somehow managed never to show a shot of VY at pressbox level, next to members of Fisher's staff. That couldn't have worked better if Fisher was pulling the strings for the network.

While the Titans will talk of Young being like any other backup, they are working hard to shield him from anything and everything that might further dent his psyche. (Elizabeth Merrill gives us a look today at what some who are close to Young think is up with him.)

As Young continues to rehab his knee and the Titans continue to try to help him get his head straight, he needs to move to the sideline.

Nashville was very interested in his sideline demeanor when he was playing. Fans and media will have binoculars on him Sunday when he'll be designated the third QB but not likely in uniform.

I'm not suggesting he put on a performance for us, but he needs to look interested, and invested, if he's going to begin to win people back.

That means mingling with teammates, talking with Kerry Collins between series and keeping his head in the game, not standing off to the side alone or only chatting with his pals or appearing in any way to be feeling sorry for himself.

It is not, in the big picture, a big deal.

But all we'll get for now are little pictures.
