Wow, you're right. That wasn't an attempt at tackling low, that was a direct shot at the knees. A smaller guy needs to go low to have the best shot at taking down a bigger guy, but that just looked intentionally dirty.

It's hard to tell if it was dirty or not. You can't go high, so I guess it wasn't too dirty.

Sucks for the Dolphins and Keller though.

I really don't see anything wrong with that hit.

Swearinger is a guy who was suspended for high hits at South Carolina. He's talked about flags and fines since he's been drafted. I doubt he went low trying to avoid the head.

This is what happens though. You make guys change the way they've tackled their entire careers and don't allow them to practice a new technique because of CBA rules. He looked really unnatural making that play.

The helmets that are worn today have evolved from helmets that were intended to prevent skull fractures, not concussions.

Honestly, the NFL could turn this into a big cash cow. No one is going to buy an NFL hard helmet and walk down the street in it. But, some might buy a soft helmet that is styled nice.

I agree, they could still wear face masks too and wouldn't take much from the game. You could still have big hits, you just could not lead with the head.
