The Whole Stomping On the Terrible Towel Thing

Man, the media are going APE over Lendale's footstomp. All of the guys on ESPN keep yelping about how "Ooooooh, that's going to come back & haunt them."



Tom Jackson actually looked like he was going to physically CRY. Maybe he's just somber because of the Broncos choke?

Either/or, this is nothing new in this rivalry. Especially to us old Oiler fans from the 70's. I personally watched the Mike Renfro TOUCHDOWN no-call like five times yesterday on Youtube just to get fired up. It worked like a charm.


I also remember when our Tennessee brethren carted around a "Touchdown Tommy Maddox" dummy. It was so fun watching him get sacked. I also remember the sideline "coffee incident," & its aftermath.

These media A-holes need to quit being such drama queens about something so normal.

The footstomp was normal behavior. I may be a sociologist, but I minored in psych.

What say you about the classic footstomp & the reaction to it?

The way I see it is that the towel is terrible. It's a bad towel and we just punished it for being bad.

I hate stuff like that. Who cares if we play them again? We'll be better because we'll have Big Al and KVB. As if we wont beat them again because we desecrated their stupid towel, it wasn't even an official towel anyway. Some people are just biased towards the Steelers and look stupid now because we dominated their sorry asses. Everyone not only picked the Steelers to win but some people were saying Roethlisberger should be the MVP, guess those talks just died.

I never get bull**** like that. Like a team stomped on your towel, so they're going to be so much more fired up? Really? That's what it takes to get your fired up? Bulletin board material IMO is completely overhyped, especially in the NFL where these players are PRO-FESS-IONALS! These guys are paid to give a ****, especially in the playoffs. If the Titans lose because the Steelers are more motivated over something as asinine as some player stomping on a stupid fan towel, then the Titans don't deserve to be in the damn playoffs.

Sorry, I'm just sick of analysts showing that one thing over and over. How about showing how this squad completely out-played the so called best team in the AFC?

They're making it a big deal cause they NEED some kind of promotion to run w/ in the AFC Playoffs.

Look at this year, Patriots are without Tom Brady, Colts look a little weak for playoffs, San Diego might just barely make it.....and two of the teams that everyone said were Superbowl contenders at the start of the season(Browns and Jags) arent even sniffing the playoffs.

The media needs something to hype up the playoffs in the AFC, and I truly believe they hate the fact that Tennessee has risen up from the ashes of a few years ago and has become(atleast for this season) the elite team in the AFC.

I take alot of pride in yesterdays game, Titans were without two of its best defenders, and were pretty much underdogs to the media proclaimed #1 NFL team....and guess what happened, our D proved to be better than theirs...making Small Ben look like the joke QB he is.

Congrats to the Titans, HFA and playing their best game of the year...none of us saw this coming.
