I think this show will still be around in 2023. Any takers?

Still haven't watched the latest episode, but I can't wait to!

And that's something I haven't once said with TWD. Very pleased with this season!

If they can successfully kill of "regulars" like Rick or Darryl and the show still works? Then definitely. Plenty of characters come every season... just make them likeable and able to carry on.

Nah, I don't think so. Not that it's not popular enough to go on that long. But I just don't know how many different stories you can realistically tell in that world (while still keeping it interesting). Even if you change the setting and characters it seems like it would get pretty stale eventually.

And that made Fox cancel the Simpsons? Or Comedy Central cancel South Park? Or CBS cancel Survivor?

As long as it makes z monies!

There's a problem there. 2 of the 3 shows you mentioned are cartoons, where the characters are ageless, and the scenery is limitless and completely changeable. Which makes for cheap and easy variety. King of the Hill thrived for a good long time, and was still good. Very rare to do that with a live action show, with a steady cast. Malcolm in the middle was a great show, but unfortunately kids grow up, and having Malcolm as a 28 year old just wouldn't work very well.

Survivor features a different cast every single year.

What nick said. I think it's tough to compare a drama to an animated comedy or reality show. Not saying it's impossible. Just not likely.

The reason I think it has a chance are the ratings for this year. They really are remarkable for a TV show almost in an unprecedented way. I could easily see the show continue with a different cast.

I could see it continuing on with a new cast as well. Still, making it til 2023 seems like a pretty tall order.

So the question is what are we going to be on it? A 10 year bet will be the longest I've made (in strictly gambling sense).
