    The novel was fantastic...one of King's best. The made for TV mini series, not so much. King stuff for whatever reason doesn't translate well to the big screen. A few have been made into good mini series however, The Stand was good, and also he wrote Storm of the Century as a TV script only....it was also good.

    The Mist, Carrie, The Shining, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Hearts in Atlantis, Stand by Me, Dolores Claiborne and Misery would disagree.

    also.... Maximum Overdrive is awesome.

    We really need a 6 hour long true to the novel version of "It".

    The Mist was OK, Carrie (which one?), The Shinning was great, SHawshank was not horror, The Green mile was only ok, Hearts in Atlantis I never saw, Stand by Me was not horror, Claiborne sucked, Misery was ok.

    I agree that King's books are better than the film versions in almost every case, but that old Salem's Lot TV movie had it's moments. You know which ones I'm talking about. One involves a window.. Getting chills just thinking about it..
