Hardly what could be considered a sensible option in 2006. Regardless of whichever shade of government you vote in they will all require the puel escalator to raise revenue.

need a massive revolt where everyone boycotts fuel.

It would never happen, but it is probably the only way.

OPEC is already talking about cutting the oil supply back because the price is dipping to much on the international market. We boycott for a day then OPEC just bottles the stuff and says "we'll get'em tomorrow".

Our only hope is really to stop using the stuff. OPEC seriously has the world as it junk and they are just dealing the stuff. You do not call today he will be by the phone waiting for the next day because he knows that you can only go so long before the craving hit you ....

    I wasn't being totally serious.

But it is sad if you don't have a choice.

If one party that is outside wants to get elected, they should step up an pledge to cut taxes if elected. That's how democracy is suppose to work.

Dude what are you talking about. The price of oil is doubled and tripled by local oil companies not OPEC. Do the maths:

    1 Barrel = 42 Gallons
1 Barrel sold for = $70 by OPEC
    which equals: $70/42G= $1.66

and it reaches us the consumer at $3..

So the real problem is the taxes and :greedy: multi billion dollar oil companies such as EXXON not OPEC! :irked:

You're missing the cost of refining the oil and the cost of getting it to the gas station. (Most gas stations are privately owned so their costs wouldn't go into oil company profits.)

What he said without going into much more detail. Seriously you are fooled that anyone but OPEC controls the price. The Government regulates the profit%. Our own government is probably costing us $.10 a gallon by constantly sending auditors into the gas companies to figure out why a multi-billion dollar somehow figured out how to invest there capitol properly to make a decent gain on a market driven by fear. Seriously? OPEC shout they are dropping supply by 5% the price of gas goes up 3 times that.

What has changed int he past 5 months that has driven the price down of oil?

We are still at war, Iran is still there, Korea has not changed at all. The only difference is it is not summer season and the market is less tense about prolonged problems. Leveling out. Oil prices should still continue to drop until our reserves are reported less then normal which has not happened for 2 months or OPEC butts in which is the more likely issue.
