Who knows... this may sound REALLY crazy... but maybe...

just MAYBE... having a legit receiving target to draw attention from cj or benefit from the attention cj gets might actually be a great thing for both CJ and the offense??

I know that's crazy talk and having some slow fatarse that screams "HHEEEYY ! THIS IS A RUN PLAY OR ELSE I WOULDNT BE ON THE FIELD! EVERYONE GO FOR CJ!!" is a much more effective way, but just maybe...

The dude blocked one level. He's too slow to get to the next level... I'd rather have a TE that can actually block in open space, even if it's just barely knocking a safety off balance to spring CJ.

Yup. I know the playoff fumble sticks out in most Titans fans minds but he really doesn't deserve this fumbleitis reputation he seems to have with a lot of people. The guy only has 5 career (regular season) lost fumbles. And considering that's spread out over a 9 season, 367 reception career, that's pretty damn good actually.

For me, this was a good thing. We have plenty of capable TE's to run Fishers little slip screen and TE drags.

It was that fumble that stood between us and an AFC championship game, hardly nothing. And if it wasn't a fumble it was a drop. He was largely worthless as a passing target. He wont be tough to replace. Will Stevens be the guy? Don't know, but I'm sure someone will no problem. New England has a habit of signing wash ups who don't really contribute, Crumpler will be another.

Maybe Crumpler did more than I'm willing to give him credit for, but my goodness, I think I'd rather have Frank Wycheck come back vs. Crump. I'm still upset with Crump and LenDale over their costly fumbles/drops. Crump may have been a good blocker but certainly there are other TE's out there that the Titans can obtain that can block, catch and run?

So long Crump, enjoy the weather in NE

I hope Stevens is ready (he should be, and he was known for his ridiculous number of whammy blocks in college), b/c Crump was our third OT on a bruising line last year.
