I wasn't saying that. Just saying, fans perspective can be changed after one bad game. See Chris Johnson, sucked at the start of the year, got better towards the end. If CJ would of reversed that and he sucked towards the end of the year everyone would want him cut.

You mean the punter who has the top 2 and three of the top 5 net punting ypg in franchise history. Just checking if were thinking of the same guy.

Before I get started, I know I'm a novice at this, but I wanted to put forth my comprehensive offseason "Wish List" and get your thoughts.

    Free-Agency
We know we should be significantly involved this year, for obvious reasons.
    • Significant (relative term) Cuts/Retirements
      • Hutch - retires (hopefully)
      • Hawkins - cut - :deadhorse:
      • Amano - cut - likewise see above
      • Babs - cut
      • Harper - cut - too soft and fluffy
      • I think we keep Hass
    • Resignings
      • Cook - Use the franchise tag and make him earn a big contract next year
      • Velasco - servicable center/guard
      • Diles - well like before he got hurt (good LB depth)
      • Bironas - let him finish his career a Titan
    • FA Signings
      • G- Andy LeVitre - again, no need to go into depth here
      • CB - Quenton Jammer or Brent Grimes (if healthy) - this would push Verner back to the slot role where he excels
      • RB - Brandon Jacobs - will be cheap. Hear me out on this one: he has had a year off basically, and he will be looking to prove something. We need a punishing back to complement CJ - and it doesn't get more punishing than Jacobs. Also it will make sense in the short term when you see my draft projections.
      • DT - Glenn Dorsey - Has been solid but not spectacular at KC, maybe a change of scenery will do him some good.
      • DT/DE - Arthur Jones - I think he may resign with the Ravens but if he doesnt he is still young and is a player
      • SS - ?? - This one I'm still up in the air on who it should be. We definitely need a safety that will lay the hammer down, but not sure who is the top SS free agent out there. Delmas from Detroit is an option if he could play SS
    Draft
    • Round 1 - Chance Warmack - G - Personally, I see the people we draft without hesitation (Star, Teo, Stud DEs) off the board, so I think we trade back into the 15-20 range and grab a sure fire (fingers crossed) HOF guard
    • Round 2 - Barret Jones - C - I hope the perfect scenario happens and Barret Jones falls into our laps. He would be the cerebral leader of the line. This would complete the much needed overhaul of our OL
    • Round 2 (from trade down) - Alex Okafor - DE - I've seen a few mocks of him falling into the late 2nd. He would be a great complement to Morgan as a speed rusher and great value here.
    • Round 3 - Andrew Jackson - ILB - Ok so I read earlier posts and drank the kool-aid on this kid. I hope he declares early. This guy would overtake McCarthy if/when he goes down with injury next year. He absolutely lays the wood.
    • Round 4 - Denard Robinson - WR - whether or not he has a "true" position in the NFL, he is a dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands. Here's to hoping our OC can find some creative ways to get him involved :toast:
    • Round 4 (Projected Comp) - Tyrann Mathieu - CB/S - Yes he is prone to bad decisions and has a been out of football for a year, but when you look at tape of him in 2011 he was dominant. He would start as a return specialist (thus saying goodbye to Reynaud) and hopefully develop into a great starting safety or corner in a year or 2
    • Round 5 - Marcus Lattimore - RB - Obviously he would need to go on IR for the year and rehab. The kid would have been a first rounder for sure if not for that freak injury. I believe the kid comes back and is dominant again, a la Willis McGahee. He has the potential to eventually take over for CJ
    • Round 7 - Montori Hughes - DT - Here is another guy with big potential. A big body to help clog up OL
    2013 Outlook

    Offense
Our OL would have the potential to be dominant. CJ should have some holes to run through, and Brandon Jacobs could convert the short yardage stuff. My prediction is Britt "magically" returns to dominant form, remains healthy and really helps out our offense. If that happens I see the FT in his future next offseason. What scares me is Jake Locker. I haven't lost faith in him, but I hope he improves, if not we will be starting from scratch next year.

    Defense
Please please please get us a new DC. We have some pieces in place and with the additions above I think we could have a great one. Ayers and Brown (if used properly) will be studs in this league.

I'm sure I have misspelled words and players names and for that I apologize.

Brandon Jacobs is the type of complement RB CJ needs. I like Lattimore as a late round flier and the McGahee comparison.

If you want to keep everything organised, you may want to put links to each of the position primers in the original post, for future reference.

Totally agree he is not the same player he was in his prime, but we aren't going to feed him the rock 10-15 times a game either. His sole purpose would be to convert short yardage situations a la Jerome Bettis in his later years. I guarantee his 260+ lb. body could still push a pile, especially since he essentially had a year off.
