    I'll just say two things:

    1) I bet they don't take a knee the next time they play.

    2) I wish we were having this conversation about the Titans taking a knee.

I have honestly wondered for years why more teams don't do this. If you have a shot to get the ball back you take it. If the Bucs were getting blown out and had no shot at winning, then it might seem a little dirty, but they still had a shot. If the Giants would have fumbled that, and the Bucs comeback and win then I think everyone either calls the TB coach a genius, or blames the Giants for thinking the game was over when there was still time left.

I also wonder why more teams don't try fake knees at halftime. I think you could catch someone off gaurd and throw a deep ball or something.

I'm pretty sure I remember a team doing just that... I want to say Miami - I even want to say it was Marino that did it.

I've seen teams try it. Maybe once or twice in the last several years, If I were a coach I would do it at least once a year. maybe more. haha

Mark Schlereth is going off OFF about this on ESPN right now. What a tool. He's acting like Schiano kicked a baby.

Here's what I've managed to figure out from the "experts" weighing in on this...

If the "expert" played Offense originally, they are against what Schiano did. If the "expert" played Defense originally, they are with Schiano.

I loved Colin Cowherd's take on it... he said it's supposedly an "unwritten" rule when the offense takes a knee to let it go. If this were an actual rule, it would sound extremely stupid. He makes a good point.

Clock is still running... the offense should have been able to tell from the posture of the defense that they were attacking and responded in kind. If they were unable to tell... they shouldn't be playing professional football.

Also, most former players I heard talk about it mentioned how it was communicated from offense to defense about whether the kneel down was coming. The defense responds in kind and lets the offense know if they are relenting or not.

So, unless the Bucs lied to the Giants' offense... it was a fair play and the Giants should have prepared for it.

Shame on the Giants for not preparing properly for a down in the NFL.

I feel Schiano was within the written rules but should know what comes with it.

It's the same with running up the score, you can do it but know what comes with it. If you're running WR takes a nice shot across the middle because you we're running up the score, it's on you.

On the flip side, expect people to try and run the score up on Schiano and we better not hear him b***h

Eh, but Schiano was simply trying to get the ball back for one last attempt to win the game. How can he be blamed for having his team play the game?

That's why I don't get this argument, totally... if the snap had been messed up and the Bucs got the ball back... what then?

It would've been a heck of a call by the coach, then.

Yeah but there is an etiquette to the game. Part of that etiquette is you don't dive at knees.

What if one of the Bucs DL dove at the knee of a Giant OL and severely injured him? He'd look like a bigger douche than he already does.
