That is, if we're allowed to use the Oilers old sayings!
In 2000, such names as Kearse, Kenny Holmes, Blaine Bishop, Rolle, Robinson, Favors, Fisk, Ford, Robaire Smith all graced our defense. They all made it to the Big Show. Is our new defense better?
Pacman, Chris Hope, Thornton, Bulluck, KVB, Haynesworth, Woolfolk, LaBoy, and possibly Ty Law.
(Do you realize that we presently list 10 LBs on our roster!)

I love fitantitans threads. Bring the humor...

The defense is unproven. How can it be better?...

Defense...LB's with all that LB corp I hope to see a 3-4 Peyton Package Padre.

Pinky...are you pondering what I'm pondering?

I've been thinking about the "defensive QBs" and "emotional leaders" and etcetera we currently have on the roster following the draft.

D QBs: Sirmon, Fuller, Lowry (from reports), Hope(?)

E Ldrs: Bulluck, Tulloch (from reports)

    Motors: KVB, LaBoy, Nande, Tulloch

Character leadership: Hope, Thornton, KVB, Bulluck

With any luck, we should be flying toward the ball with pinpoint accuracy. I have a lot of hope for this defense. If we do bring in Law, I hope he is worth it. A big contract followed by poor performance could equal a nasty cap hit upon release. Other than that, analysts are going to start looking at our D and say "something good is brewing down in Tennessee."

ya a 3-4 would be really good, they dont know where the other guy is comming from, and the rb's say that it is much tougher to run against, so that would also help stopping the run and we would have more speed out there

Yeah, but we DON'T have Greg Williams... Therefore our D is clearly NOT better.

You're right BiPolar, they are unproven on the field but 100% better on paper this year than they were last year on the field!
KVB, Haynesworth(a healthy one), LaBoy, Woolfolk and Bulluck have proven themselves on the field. Our FA pickups, Thornton and Hope (and Law(?)) have proven themselves on other teams. Pacman is still...........Pacman. I didn't list any rookies although I think there are some that I will wish, somewhere down the road in 2006, that I had added to the list.

With no disrespect meant to either you our WoolfolksUncle, Andre Woolfolk has not proven anything on the field yet. On second thought, add Laboy to that list as well. And Haynesworth might be our best d lineman, but he still has to do it. Only Bulluck and KVB have proven themselves, if you ask me. And I would like to see KVB do it again, not doubting him mind you. I would just like to see it again.
Our d is a long way from the house of pain.

I thought Laboy started to live up to his potential towards the end of season, didn'the get 6 sacks or something.

Our defense is unproven, but hey, its way better than last year.
