    Jets' collapse costs Mangini his job (AP)

    The New York Jets fired coach Eric Mangini on Monday, a day after the team failed to make the playoffs. The Jets started the season 8-3 under quarterback Brett Favre, but went 1-4 in their final five games and did not reach the postseason for the second straight year despite a massive offseason spending spree.

    I don't think Mangini was the problem. No he's not the best coach out there but I think we ALL know what the problem in NY was.....

    Now wait a second. Some Jets fan came into this forum and told us how Mangini had a come-to-Jesus-talk with ole Brett. Brett saw the error in his ways, and immediately stopped smoking, boozin, and ho'ing himself out to opposing DB's by throwing int's. Yep, Brett would never be another DB's beeyatch ever again!

    And it was all true! As it turns out, you could teach an old dog news tricks afterall!

    Portions of the story you have just read could be interpreted as/or are entirely BS.
