The Freak not freakish?

Well .5 sack and 1 FF isn't bad so far stat wise, but he doesn't look like he used to to me. There was talk of him being just the same (I believe from him and teammates), but maybe it was just another off-season feel good story.

He doesn't look as fast around the edge, and looks like he can't shed a block to save his life. He never had a lot of pass rush moves, he was mostly a one trick pony....and maybe his one trick is about tricked out.

I'm not saying he wasn't a good signing, and it also could be a bit early to make judgments. But from preseason and 2 reg season games, I'm a tad let down. He's not living up to the nic-name so far and I wonder if this is going to end up to a similar let down like Robaire.

But enough negativity, we're 2-0 :woot2:

 

He may be a downgrade from Odom or LaBoy, but in fairness, both those guys were inconsistent/injured a lot. Both really only showed up most their last year here.

I don't question Jevon's dedication, just whether or not he's the type of starter some are expecting. But otoh, maybe we see Ford/Ball/Hayes more.

To be honest, we may have to guys come home that won't light it up....McCariens hasn't looked really good. Definitely not getting much seperation. Maybe the old saying "too good to be true" will apply here. And again, maybe we see another guy get reps here if JM's play isn't up to par. I wonder Hawkins will leap frog Chris Davis and Paul Williams for PT. Fish sometimes doesn't let rooks play much, but it probably won't take much talent wise to leap frog either guy :-/
