Todd Yoder wasn't an offensive player? Corey Harris? Heck Wil Wolford also.

Vandy with or without Cutler has had better classes than MTSU.

In terms of someone like Young, I don't think you can say if Cutler was the QB of Texas, they 100% win the NC. But if Young had chosen to go to Vandy, he would have been the highest rated player ever to go to Vandy, and I think it is a very safe bet that he averages more than 2-3 wins a year.

"The belief in league circles is that Jets coach Eric Mangini and general manager Mike Tannenbaum are targeting Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler with the fourth overall pick. Such a move would coincide with signing a second-tier veteran -- Aaron Brooks, Jon Kitna, Brian Griese and Sage Rosenfels are possibilities -- and almost certainly would spell the end of Chad Pennington's career as a Jet."

What a bad move that would be for the Jets. You would think a disciple of Belichick would be wiser than that and re-build that team from the ground up, not vice-versa. Brick or any D-Lineman would be an awfully good pick for that team.

Vandy QB hot property… It seems like it’s the Senior Bowl all over again, but the hottest property in Indianapolis this week appears to be Vanderbilt QB Jay Cutler. Indeed, there is a bit of a buzz this week that the New York Jets, who have the 4th pick overall at this year’s draft, have targeted Cutler as the player they’d like to grab this coming April. The Jets, of course, appear on the verge of cutting ties with incumbent starter Chad Pennington whose career is in jeopardy after having undergone rotator cuff surgery for the second straight season. The Jets had originally been thought to be more interested in bringing in a veteran QB such as Kerry Collins (if, as expected, the former Panther and Giants’ starter is released by Oakland) rather that starting over with a rookie, however, with new head coach Eric Mangini in town, there appears to have been a change in the Jets’ philosophy. What isn’t clear from the buzz re the Jets and Cutler is whether the Jets are in fact prepared to take Cutler with the #4 pick or would prefer to drop down several spots before making their selection. Even if they were able to draft Cutler, though,, the Jets are still expected to try and bring in a veteran to help bridge the gap until Cutler is ready to take over the job. Meanwhile, one team that appears to have dropped out of the Cutler sweepstakes is Detroit which has the 9th pick overall. At a news conference earlier this week, the Lions’ management troika of president Matt Millen, head coach Rod Marinelli and new offensive co-ordinator Mike Martz each expressed strong support for embattled incumbent starter Joey Harrington. Like the Jets, though, the Lions are likely to be in the market for a solid second-tier veteran to back-up Harrington, if not push him for the job.

"JETS LOOKING TO SWAP WITH SAINTS?

There’s talk in league circles that the New York Jets are sufficiently smitten with Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler to prompt serious consideration by the front office of a trade up in the April draft from the No. 4 overall spot to No. 2, which pick currently is held by the Saints.

The Jets’ objective would be to leapfrog the Titans, who sit and No. 3 – and who likewise are thought to be thinking seriously about drafting Cutler.

The only hitch is that the Saints are believed to be primarily interested in USC quarterback Matt Leinart, who very well could be plucked by the Titans at No. 3 if Cutler is off the board.

Im a MTSU fan and I believe that Vandy has more talent than MTSU, though MTSU is slowly making strides.
As for the Cutler/Jet/Saints trade rumors, this draft could get very interesting
