RollTide, don't bother reading this thread/post. Thanks.

I was rummaging around other Titans forums earlier and came across this interesting post by the one they call "bongo". The guy seems to act like he knows what he's talking about, but I'm a little skeptical. Anyone know if this guy is an "insider" or just some schmuck with a fabricated internet personality?

Anywho, he seems to think CJ is the next coming of Christ, he may be full of it, but it's still interesting to read what he has to say...

Don't shoot the messenger. I just thought that it was an interesting read from a supposed "insider/guru".

bongo sometimes posted here, some question his credibility, but I think he has something to do with titans though I think it is medical related (i could be completely off here)

    Another nice sig Gunny.

Yeah, he's talked about as a legend in some quarters, and dissed in others. I have no idea whether he has any cred.

Personally, I love Bongo....not so much for the "insider info", but for the effect he has on whatever forum he's posting in. Never before have I seen one person have such a polarizing effect on a board. (The only ones who are really annoying are the hardcore lapdogs and the hardcore haters.)

You've got to hand it to the guy....he doesn't waffle or *****foot around on subjects. The guy swings for the fences. Sometimes he hits a home run, and sometimes he goes down in flames. Either way, I find it very entertaining.

One thing I will say for him....love him or hate him, the guy knows a helluva lot about football.

Bongo has been around for quite some time. He definitely has some form of inside knowledge or connection, and one of the things that I've enjoyed about hearing from him is that even inside knowledge and opinion aren't always correct. Even the smartest pros and scouts for the teams are wrong about some things. However, I think it is interesting/entertaining to hear his stories and opinions.

In this case, it's exciting to see someone who knows enough about football and knows some inside opinions that is so excited about our new back.

Take it with a grain of salt, but enjoy it.

It is fun to believe it all to be true...

So far, CJ has not done anything to disprove any of his statements and everything to hype them.

We should check back in a few months to see how these predictions age...

A few things I agree with and some I disagree with.

There have been other great runningbacks with this ability, I consider Tony Dorsett to be the best at it but anyone who saw Walter Payton knows he was also great at it. The guy I compare CJ to is the late great Chiefs RB Joe Delaney who died very young but was built just like CJ had his speed and basically was a clone.

I couldn't have said it better myself, but those are pretty close to my exact words in another thread. He is going to also dictate how the defense lines up; forcing linebackers and safeties to change their depth and spacing when they see him. This will in turn create lanes. When he goes in motion out of the backfield the option to move a linebacker over to cover him will not exist.

I too love what he is going to bring us and expect big things, my only fear is injuries since he isn't the biggest guy on the field the DCs will take a approach to try and deliver a knockout blow to him to get him off the field, I know that is what I would try to do to him.

He has hit on a few notable ones recently. The day we drafted Pacman he predicted he would be out of the league in 3 years because of his off-field indiscretions.

Mind you, he was BIG TIME on the Cedric Benson wagon and predicted him to be a future star.

The last 2 years he has predicted our first round pick about 2 months before the draft.

He's entertaining for sure. I remember his blockbuster trade thread a couple of years ago that amounted to absolutely nothing.
