I'm perfectly capable of reading their explanation of how they ranked teams, I just don't agree that it's anything more than one way of doing it. They picked three random stats and averaged them, without providing a justification for it. Third down success is important for a lot of things, but why is it particularly telling of line quality? It gets weighed as a third?

I prefer the second set that was posted, even though I find it hard to believe that it ranks the Titans in the bottom half of run blocking lines.

Either way, there are plenty of ways to quibble with such rankings. However, my point was that none of these things strongly end the debate about whether or not your line will improve. Especially the thread that you linked to. No matter how highly you think of your board, a fan message board isn't going to qualify as discussions from all angles.

I'm happy to admit that you guys are no longer in the bottom five lines in the NFL. However, I don't think the case is closed on whether you'll be able to build on the last two seasons and keep climbing.

And the reasons being?

Maybe its the focus on revamping the Oline since Kubiak has arrived? How about a very solid RT in Eric Winston? A pro bowl alternate in Guard Chester Pitts? Maybe its the extra year under Alex Gibbs one of the best Oline coaches in the history of the game? Maybe its the extra year of playing together since gelling and more experience together is bad for Olines? Maybe its because Duane Brown who was thrown into the fire and had an early slate of DEs or OLBs to get his feet wet in the NFL such as Jerry Porter, KVB, James Harrison, Dwight Freeney, Jared Allen and Terrell Suggs...All in his first 9 games should not be any better this year? Or maybe its because the Oline started to settle in together last year and only gave up 12 sacks over the last 8 games? Or maybe its because we addressed our 2 main weaknesses on the line this off season? A big blocking TE for inside the redzone purposes to go against the OLB in 3-4 teams? Or the other weakness of lack of depth in the interior line? Those are all good reasons why the Oline should not get any better this year right?

Ummm yeah Peter.... thats about 1/10 of my last post. And take a look at EVERY offensive line under Alex Gibbs in his history. Pretty much every line he has ever coached has vaulted and been a top 10 running team if not top 5. Thats like over 20 years of his lines being one of the best in the NFL. Sweep it under the rug like its not a big time advantage for the Texans or anything.

I cant understand why any of you are even targeting the offense of the Texans as a reason why we will fail this year... LOL. Our offense will be explosive this year and will be a huge strength of this team. Its the DEFENSE that is the question and is what would prevent us from improving our win total this season.
