Just a guess but the Titans are probably pushing for some language related to his legal troubles. He's one of the only guys in the draft (maybe the only one) with outstanding charges, correct? I imagine the Titans want extra protection.

You're probably right, it's likely more the team than Lewan.

Seems to happen nearly every year with the Titans' first round pick...

Chance Warmack signed in late July. Kendall Wright signed in late July. Jake Locker signed in late July. Derrick Morgan signed in late July also. Clearly there's something to waiting to hand a young man a large bag of money.

So the Titans, Browns and Dolphins are 3 of the smartest teams?

Robert Griffin III was also a late July signing, as was Mark Barron and TBH a lot of early 1st rounders. Its a common thing to hold off handing over $10M to a rookie.

Not all front offices are the Jets and signing top choices immediately following the draft. Its a wise move IMO to wait, makes sure the player has a reason to compete. I know if I pocket $10M one afternoon Im taking a week or two off to cruise around the Bahamas. These players have nothing to do all of July but spend money they shouldn't.

Never really thought of that, but it is a good point. Its probably safer to wait until the players have to be a practice every day before giving them all that money. Easier for the teams to keep an eye on what they are doing and less oppurtunity to get into trouble.
