It boils down to this, if Gloat finds them marketable, they are.

They don't have to be "very are" good looking. Again- if you don't get the importance of image, just don't argue about it.

There are plenty. I hate Lebron, but he has a good image. Jordan had it. Deion had it. Bo Jackson had it. Jeter has it. Pujols has it. Shaq has it. yadda yadda... tons of athletes have it.

Guys like Dan Marino, Peyton Manning, Larry Bird, Tiger Woods, etc don't have it. They look like dorks and act like dorks too. They don't make anyone think they're cool.

Zero charisma. Which would be important usually- but since they're known as the greatest, they get away with it.

    Main Entry: cha·ris·ma
    Pronunciation: \kə-ˈriz-mə\
    Function: noun
Etymology: Greek, favor, gift, from charizesthai to favor, from charis grace; akin to Greek chairein to rejoice — more at yearn
    Date: 1930
1 : a personal magic of leadership arousing special popular loyalty or enthusiasm for a public figure (as a political leader)
    2 : a special magnetic charm or appeal <the charisma of a popular actor>

thats the definition of charisma. it appears you dont know the meaning of the word

tiger woods and manning are loved by the vast majority of the public. larry bird was loved by many and a great leader.

to say they dont have charisma is just foolish and wrong. there are many things that make someone marketable. not just if you think they are pretty or not.

being the best at what you do gives you a great "image" and that makes it a marketable image. being a good person on and off the field gives manning a very marketable image.

its not just about being pretty big guy

Uhhh no. If LeBron wasn't good at basketball he wouldn't get endorsements. It's foolish to say "Well these guys get endorsements because their good at sports, these guys get endorsements because of how they look. Doesn't make sense.
