It gets respect where it matters. That graphic novel is a part of literature/art IMO.

Dude Spawn sucks

He comes from the dark era of comics when writers got lazy and decided to make new characters as over powered as they could.

Physics don't apply? Well lets just toss 'God' into the mix and end it all since not applying to the laws of physics isn't a thing. Sure, comics aren't real and you can use your wildest imagination, but keeping it REMOTELY believable is respectable.

Sounds like the writers of Spawn were that kid growing up that always dodged the bullets when you shot him or had some invisible force field.

 

Lol Spawn is amazing and has been running since the 90's.

The character's popularity has dipped but seems to be coming back for whatever reason. Possibly because a new animated series is starting and a movie is on the works.

Spawn is a great character. He just happens to be infinitely powerful at moments.


I've always enjoyed the magic/supernatural characters the best.

Spawn, Constantine, Dr. Strange, Spectre, Justice League Dark, Ghost Rider, all my favorites coming up.

God/devil/ghosts/angels/demons are all pretty much a part of most comic universes so characters being associated with these themes are always going to trump any physical characters.

 

Probably should have mentioned the point of this - who would win? favourites?

Flash has a tv show. It's not exactly highbrow material. It's 'Arrow's dorky cousin...you know, the one who wears cardigans and eats ice cream cones.

Batman has Ra's Al Ghul and The Joker.
Flash has Captain Cold and....REVERSE Flash??... Really??

 

That and most interesting characters. Batman virtually gets his own DSM manual.

 

Reverse flash? Can he only run backwards?

 

My overall sentiment:
DC Comics, don't care.


But flash would have the edge in the fight, considering he is actually superhuman, while batman is a grown up Richie Rich.
