Coaches did say they're looking for 19 starters on D, so yea I can see Morgan and ayers both seeing a lot of time as situational players

We have extra talent on Defense. Might not all be stars but fresh guys in the forth quarter is just as important as the first quarter starters.

Sounds like mike Martin is finding himself a nice place so far in the defense. I'm curious to see Morgan in pads playing OLB. Wimbley can be a good tutor for our guys without experience in 34. Ayers should become a pass rush first guy.

Ayers is soft, all he can do is pass rush. Ive got to say, what used to look like a strength in 2012 has become a big headache. Ayers, McCarthy and Brown :wall:

Let's give Horton a chance to make something. Don't forget we had a high school coach for their position under Munchak. That's when they regressed.

MM surrounding himself with his buddies for his 2013 farewell tour was just pathetic. And yes I know this guy was on the staff earlier but he was promoted to LB coach in 13 IIRC

but that aint important. Point is MM should have been surrounding himslef with the best he could find with his huge NFL background. But instead he just wanted to be with his buddies.

its not what you know, but who you know. Whiz had a better network of coaches, which is why he was so appealing to multiple teams.

I really want to see what Mike Martin does with pads on. We know he's strong as a bull.

Munchak didn't hire his buddies just because he is that good of a friend, he did it because his network was pretty much nonexistent. You only meet so many coaches willing to work under you as a position coach. And the people he roped into doing it were terrible, obviously.

But I don't even put that on him. That is on Bud for thinking that a position coach with no skill in gameplanning, play calling, or any desirable HC traits was the man for the job.
