Honestly, I think that is invalid because so few of the guys who were a part of that are still here. I think that the few who were here might remind the new guys of what has passed, and we've even seen Jeff Fisher do it a time or two. But I don't think it can really provide motivation to a group of young guys who weren't a part of it. It's just history to them. The towel on the other hand is a timeless tradition. It isn't about a specific game, or a certain era of the team. The towel, in their eyes, is an extension of their logo and their name. And so it's desecration affects them because, for them, it's the same as if you stomped on one of their jerseys. And while I think the towel uproar is a little silly, I see where they are coming from.

So to answer your question, in my opinion yes it is invalid, but not for the same reasons the towel stomping would be considered invalid.

 

I don't agree. One is a symbol of a country of which people have died to protect. The towel is a symbol of a football team which nobody has died to protect. Too big of a difference. One involves a game one involves real life. I loved the towel stomp but hate when people burn the flag.

 

As much as I hate the Steelers their fans loyalty is impressive.

The way Dan Rooney & his dad treat/treated their fans probably has a lot to do with that loyalty & passion.

 

It is impressive but i'm so sick of their fans. This whole thing about the towel stomp is being so over played by the media and everyone else. Their lucky all we did was stomp on their towel. If we were Philly fans i can guarantee you that those fans would of left with red towels instead of yellow :stars:

 

The towels the Titans had weren't even real terrible towels. Does the money from knock-off towels go to charity as well or only the Cope towels.

Also, I agree, the comparison to the Steeler towel and the American flag is ridiculous.

 

We will never get respect from the media.

The great is that we're going to meet again & the towel is going to get the same treatment.Bulluck doesn't act disrespectfully to other players or teams.

I agree with sec, i think the colts beat them again.

Steelers can't handle a fast defensive front. For some reason they were able to keep freeney and mathis down to just 2 sacks when they played them and still lost. If they meet in the playoffs the colts will get 6 sacks!

 

Well big ben has been sacked more than anybody this year. Combine that with our D and that was no fluke. Their D line had a hard time with our O line too. So I don't see us having a problem with them.

As far as the towel thing goes. It's better for them to vent about the towel than admit we have the better team any day of the week.

 

Nope, we probably won't. But just like the players themselves, that's exactly the way I want it. Our team seems to feed off the media's constant lack of respect.

Has anyone ever noticed that the media is kinda like Baghdad Bob?* They keep refusing to acknowedge our presence when we are right behind him kicking other teams' asses.

If Pitt does make it back here, and we smack them down again, I hope Bulluck takes it a step further and actually goes through the motion of wiping his *** with it.
