So what? There are 1st rd picks who end up being backups the rest of their careers. If Locker is a backup because of his unreliability so be it. It's not like he makes $10M a year.A lot of backups make more.

And who cares if a 2nd rd pick is a backup for at least one year?

If the guys playing ahead of him are playing well that is a good thing right?

Uhhh.... what? We haven't been getting the kind of consistent play we need from the positions since, well, McNair. And that was a very long time ago. I do agree with you though that using a 2nd on a QB while keeping Locker and Fitz wouldn't be a bad plan. Not saying we have to use a 1st. I just don't think we should put all our eggs in the Locker basket moving forward.

What makes me feel comfortable is that Munch is ok with taking chances and firing/replacing people.

So in the event that we do end up with Munch for a year I have SOME (god, not a lot) but some faith that he would pull the trigger on a QB that Webster ( key name here) liked. I think they scouted pretty damn well on Locker and took a chance with his injury history. They were just on the loosing side if that coin unfortunately.

Lets take taj boyd in the 2nd. Reminds me of Russell Wilson in the aspect that they both have a lot of talent but both lost draft stock due to their height.

Then we don't feel obligated to start the rookie if locker is good to go, but we also have someone who has the potential to possibly be better than locker given the opportunity( which he will more than likely get)

Yeah- losing consecutive to the Jags( :puke: ) and the Colts turned the fan base against him.
