I think we are in a better position than the last time we went into Kicker Hell. . .. If you remember when "Automatic Al" couldn't get a kick over the offensive line during the middle of the season we were in serious trouble. Fisher ball was centered around trading field goals thru out the game. It is preseason and no time to be freaking out. We will see what these boys have to offer and our coaches will make the best decision going into the season. Have a little faith in the try out process.

I certainly have faith in the process. My main question is could this TC be a precursor to things to come. As many have said we have one kicker with a really strong leg, the other kicker seems to be a bit more accurate, but nothing I've read or heard says that either are having a good camp.

TC is TC and preseason is preseason. They don't really mean that much. However, we have all been fans to know that more often than not poor play does carry over into the season especially for kickers. If they are struggling to connect now, I just wonder if they will be able to step up once the lights and the pressure is on.

My next statement is not targeted to you, but this was never to be a doom and gloom type thread. I just saw what looks like a potential gap on our roster and raised a concern. People who think kickers are not necessity in today's game are just crazy. Hell the Patriots won 3 SB on their kicker's leg. In today's game where points come at a premium, no team can afford to to leave points on the board.

    That's just my two cents...

I think just go with Coons because were not going to be settling for field goals this year ..

Its all gonna be touchdowns we score so Coons can accurately get us the extra points!

If both kickers fail miserably in preseason we could always bring Bironas back.

I concur with you on that. History shows us that the last time we let an experienced kicker go: Joe Nedney to San Fransisco, we installed a no name called Bironas and that worked out pretty good. I share concern about failing in this area . . . i.e. kick returners, but the possibilities that an upgrade can bring are well worth it i think. We will see how it plays out and I will pull for the Titans either way. Thanks
