however, there is no real definition for the term "GOLF"
so this is all historians have to go on
it fits the Scot's quite well though

I don't remember exactly what I read. Something about the word being taken from a word like "kolf" or something.

The list seemed like it could be full of those bogus e-mail list "factoids".
