Hey man, that's cool stuff. Thanks for having the balls to serve our country!

I thought about joining the Marines for a while, but I just couldn't go through with it. One of my buddies is going to boot camp for the Marines in October. He's not ready. I know he isn't. He has now clue what he's in for.

Good luck, and, once again, thank you!

P.S. you may not be missing much with the Titans in 2010 :(

Thanks again guys for the support, i appreciate it. I have a cousin in the navy and we talk through email. So i think i can actually bring my laptop, if so then you guys will continue hearing from me while im at sea. I'm mentally ready to and trying to get physically ready. I guess the hardest part is getting myself to sound comfortable saying im in the military.

if you have a laptop, you can probably watch most the games in one way or another. Be through live feed or downloading them after they air.

congrats on joining the Navy. Don't worry, boot won't be too bad. I'm leaving for Paris Island, SC for Marine Bootcamp around October/November haha. 13 weeks of hell. Good luck though, in the Navy.

Some ppl will surprise ya... My old roomate was the type of guy to sleep till 3-4pm everyday... never exercised... ate tons junk food... smoked cigs and pot, drank all the time. Then he met a recruiter and a year later, he's in England in the Air Force working on fighter jets(and seems to love every minute of it) People & Perspectives change more quickly than you'd expect. Also, those recruiters will make sure hes on the right track.

Best of luck to your friend. With my friend, I gave him a free ticket to head on down to the green bay game last year. With him being a big Titans fan, and him joining up, it only made sense. You just never know when the last time youll see somebody will be. Before your friend goes in, let him know that we appreciate his service. The USO only can do so much, and it means so much more coming from a true friend.

Tell your boy that when he gets to PI, to just do what the Drill Instructors* tell them, when they tell him...with quickness. That is the whole premise of boot camp. They tell you what to do and you do it quickly.
They will often tell you to do something that there is just no time to complete. They do that on purpose. Don't worry, just do what you can and do what they tell you to when they tell you to do it.
Luckily I didn't go to Parris Island until I was 25. While I was much less mentally impressionable than the 18-19 year olds in my platoon, I was a bit more mature and understood what they were trying to accomplish, and that made boot camp quite a bit easier for me.

OP, while that is for Marine boot camp, the other branches are the same way. Just do what your (whatever they call Navy DI's) tell you to and when.
Also, be sure you know how to swim. It is the Navy after all.

*do not ever call them Drill Sergeants. Marine Drill Instructors do not like that.

Good luck OP (and to your boy RSB).
