I ordered it from Amazon. I mean, $25 is a cheap upgrade to get back 7 gb.

I'm in no big hurry. But as far as I've heard, there's not much reason not to upgrade. A few programs aren't compatible, but that's the minority.

    Thanks Star...

I had a $10 gift card, so I figured for $15 to upgrade, would give it a shot. Plus my daughter's computer is so packed with music and crap, she could use the extra space. God forbid she should just dump some music off.

BTW, just so you know, you should keep 20% of the hard drive free for better performance on a Mac. So if her machine is packed full that's another good reason to free up some space.

She's coming home this weekend, so I'm hoping I can get her to sit down and dump a bunch of stuff off her MBP. I'm sure there is a way she can just use her external drive as her music Library. Just need to figure it out.

There is a way, but I've never tried. But honestly, I think it's better to leave the library on the MBP and find something else to shift out, simply because it's a pain to have to connect an external HD any time you want to use iTunes (this would be less of an issue on a desktop).

I can't imagine what else could be on her computer taking up over 100gb....but I'll check. Maybe there is a delete program that will go in and kind of tell you what is taking up the most space.
