Agreed. Lendale does exactly what we need him to do, get the tough short yards. There's no need to change our backfield at all.

I agree that he serves a practical purpose, keeping CJ rested and healthy, I just don't agree that he's a power back. He's a 'short yardage' back simply because you can't rely on him to do anything else. Brandon Jacobs is a power back. Marion Barber is a power back. Jonathon Stewart is a power back. Lendale White clearly doesn't have the lower body power or the ability to break tackles anything like these guys

There is no "need" to change our backfield but it is silly to say you won't entertain a viable trade offer for a guy who will only be here for one more season. And why in the hell anyone would even bring up LT is stupid. LT will never be a titan!

Here is the thing about lendale. Not one game this year did lendale white do more than CJ. In other words CJ had his best games when lendale had his best games. One might think that because they are so different in body type and style there might be games when CJ struggles that lendale might be the more effective back but not one time did that happen.

Our backfield is not like the giants where jacobs could have a bad game but one of the other guys could have 100 yards. For us this year it was either feast or famine for both guys.

Another thing about lendale is that while his average carry was for 3.9 yards a very respectable number considering he did almost all the short yardage his median carry was only for 2.7 yards. Lendales numbers are very reliant on a few long runs and a couple of big games. 1/3 of his total yardage came from 2 games the lions and chiefs. Lendale only averaged 37 yards in all the 14 other games and in several games this year he was completely shut down gaining almost nothing.

That is one of the simple truths in life. CJ has to have someone help him because we want to run the ball 30 plus times and we will kill CJ doing that. We may draft another rb this year.

Lendales yardage shouldn't even be considered as factor. He is afterall, the backup. YPC is much more valuable to me. And while it might be inflated because of the Chiefs, so is the rest ofthe world. If he ever gets down below 3.0 that would be an indicator he is failing. He has shifty, powerful moves, at times. That's all I can ask for in a compliment to Johnson. The real problem is that he is not a replacement for CJ. But we can draft that.
