Was Logan Ryan any better than Valentino Blake last night?

 

It was a couple of drives in the first pre-season game. I'm more worried about the scheme than Ryan's performance.

 

Both Blake and Ryan got abused bad in their first pre-season games.

Except I'd argue Blake was against better WR talent in the Steelers.

Ryan was awful. When we signed him I didn't think he was going to be some #1 or a top coverage corner. Yet people tried to tell me "he's a #1, otherwise he wouldn't of gotten $10 mil a year."

He should be fine covering slot guys or with shadowed help though. Which is fine and still needed cause all of our corners were horrible last season.

I still think a CB line up of Ryan, Jackson, Sims, Reed should be better than McCourty, Cox, McCain and Blake.

 

All this over a PS game...

You people should know better than to read too much into these

 

Reed definitely showed up. Sims didn't look bad either, but just didn't have as much time.

Reed should absolutely be above McCain on the depth chart though.

 

So it's not a big deal getting roasted by Robby Williams or whoever the *** that was and the Jets terrible WRs?

 

I would have the "it's only one pre-season game" mindset if all through camp, anytime WR was getting open or looking good, Logan Ryan wasn't the one covering them.

It's telling he seems to be getting beat at will for the past month now.

I'm with you , it's only PS. And for the most part I just want our team to come out of these meaningless games injury free.
But what I'm guessing is that almost everyone here is sick and tired of our starting defense allowing every opponents starting offense , to have big plays and a touchdown on their first possession.

 

Really hope you had more examples in mind when you said taller guys get hurt more often. Campbell was not really the saving name for your argument.
