Signature Size

    My signature size is supposed to be 450 by 200 which others have in their signature, yet my signature is much smaller (225 by 100). Why does it resize this by so much?

    Yea I'm gonna have to agree. Jeff Fisher is most likely the problem to this.

    From the rules stated on the USER CP:
    Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 450 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

    Your image is being reduced to meet the vertical limit..

    The 19.5k limit is severely abused. There are people with 200KB signatures and it makes the load times on this site terrible if your connection isn't a top tier one.

    Color me one who finds the bandwidth overconsumption by sigs and gif avatars highly offensive. This is the slowest-loading site of all those I visit. It was working fine after some tweaks right before the Rams Hack, but it's back to normal again.

    Just because the forum software can run all that crap doesn't mean that it should.

    BTW, the news crawl doesn't need to be on every damn page... the main index page will do just fine.

    I never have a problem with this site loading - even connected via iPhone 3G in the middle of a Kansas cornfield..

    Nor does it mean that we shouldn't because a few don't care for it when there is an option for them to turn them off.

    It's built into the header so it loads on each page. Once it loads once, it should load automatically via your cache. Same for avs and sigs.

    I've run numerous tests on the load time for the site. The front page loads in under two seconds. The forum index takes around 6 secs the first time you load it but should drop to 1-2 secs after. Individual threads will vary depending on content.

    But my sig size is 225 x 100. How do I get it to 450 x 100?
